WEDNESDAY 11th SEPTEMBER Southend
After 26 journeys, nearly 300 miles and having visited 175 parishes, on Wednesday 11th September 2019, the Bishop of Chelmsford is hanging up his walking boots. His final walk will not only return to the general location of the first walk but end at his “home church” of St Margaret, Leigh-on-Sea.
On his final journey Bishop Stephen will be sent off, after an 8am Prayer Breakfast, from Great Wakering: St Nicholas for a walk to Shoeburyness station. After meeting any fellow walkers on the 8:57am arrival (7:56am departure from London, Fenchurch street) the walk will take in the centre of Southend before heading further west to Leigh-on-Sea. The journey should end around 4pm.
